Getting a head start for NEXT Christmas!

Joined a new Yahoo Group A Loose Knit Group

I'm hoping that the constant prodding I get from reading all the post will help me get enough knitted gifts done ahead of time - for next Christmas. And they already are, I've finished one pair of Fingerless mitts and am about 1/2 way through a pair of Toeup socks.

Really....I just have to follow Peggy everywhere she goes and she's one of the moderators...if you haven't stumbled across her blog, you should, she always make's my day!

An Affair to Remember

So after the RIPPING OUT my Kimono Swing Coat, I decided to order some Red to go with the Mushroom color when I re-knit it. The Teal just wasn't doing 'it' for me. SSSOOOOOOOO I used the Teal to make.......TA DA the fabUlas skirt 'An Affair to Remember' by Annie Modesitt in her book "Romantic Hand Knits."

I promise I'll post a better picture when it's finished! The color is lovely and there's just no sunshine here in Kentucky today / this month-it's January..."ain't no sunshine when she's gone...."

Rivendell FINISHED

Some GOOD news...Rivendell is finished and drying on the sock blockers. Just lovely! Perfect fit. Wonderful yarn and pattern from Chameleon Colorwork

Woe and Misery w/pictures

Couldn't help myself, I had to take a picture of this before I rip it out. The sleeves are, as you can see, about a foot too long. The back hem is also, about a foot too long. It looks more like a hugh frumpy housecoat.

all because I think I know enough to short cut directions.....darn, darn, darn! I finished the wonderful sweater coat by Annie Modesitt and tried to hang/steam block instead of laying flat/spray block...OH YEAH, I DID IT....my sleeves are now about a foot TOO LONG and the skirt part is at least a foot longer than it should be and I'm just disgusted with myself! NO PICTURES- my shame is too great. I have to rip it out and start over......darn, darn, darn!!!!
